City of North Port Roadwatch Report
Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.
Road construction scheduled for the week of January 14 – January 18, 2019:
There will be no milling or paving this upcoming week. Crews will be performing various punch list work items throughout the City. Restoration crews will be planting sod adjacent to newly paved roadways and cleaning up construction debris throughout the City, especially in areas where milling and paving was recently completed. Roadway shoulders will be graded and any additional low spots will be filled along the edge of the pavement.

A Florida Job Growth Grant application was approved by City Commission to fill the funding shortfall of the construction of this project. The grants were submitted for both projects. If awarded a grant – providing needed funds for construction, staff would rebid the project. As of this week, there is no update regarding an award of the grant.
