North Port listed No. 1 in financial well-being; No. 3 in overall well-being in U.S.
The North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton Metropolitan Statistical Area ranked third in the top U.S. communities with the highest well-being. The MSA also ranked No. 1 in financial well-being, according to the Gallup-Healthways State of American Well-Being: 2015 Community Rankings.
The Gallup survey measured how residents in 190 cities feel about their physical health, social connections, finances, community, and sense of purpose. The Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island community ranked No. 1 and Salinas, California was listed as No. 2.
The City of North Port is the largest city in the North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton MSA. The City is home to more than 62,000 residents. Spanning 104.1-square-mile, the City has a median age of 41 and nearly 10,000 school children.
