The Latest on Hurricane Irma Recovery

-Overall, water is down, all roads passable. FPL reports power has been restored.

-Crews started collecting storm debris on Friday, September 15th. Storm debris must be placed at the curb in separate piles of vegetation, construction debris and metal. The vegetation does NOT need to be tied or bundled. Debris collection may not occur on your normal collection day.  Leave it out at the curb until it is collected. As long as it is properly separated, it will not count as a bulk pickup. If your area is flooded, please do not set out debris until the water has rescinded. For more information, please contact the Department of Public Works at 941-240-8050.

-Survivors with losses due to Hurricane Irma in Charlotte, Collier, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Pinellas, and Sarasota Counties may now register for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to state and federal officials. Individuals can register online or through the FEMA App.

- Parks & Recreation Division has opened the Morgan Family Community Center and started offering programs again. See full news story at

- Warm Mineral Springs is open.

- Atwater Community Park's Splash Pad is operational and running. The park is now open regular hours.
