City seeking sponsors, exhibitors for Community Health & Wellness Fair on Feb. 24

Post Date:12/18/2017 4:27 PM

The City of North Port is looking for exhibitors, sponsors, and vendors interested in being part of the Community Health & Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018.

Presented by the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, the Community Health and Wellness Fair is designed to offer the community information about all aspects of health and wellness, including medical, financial, and mental wellbeing. The event will include activities for all ages, including recreation demonstrations, a coloring activity, and more.

“We are looking for exhibitors who are not only interested in promoting their services, but also providing an engaging, educational activity for the attendees,” said Recreation Supervisor Jonathan Wheatley. “We want this to more than an informational expo; we want this to be an experience that is memorable. In order to offer that, we are hoping our exhibitors will be interested in getting creative with us and providing activities as part of their involvement in the event.”

For instance, the City’s Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will be hosting a coloring activity for children at their table. The City also will be providing live demonstrations of some of its recreational programs for attendees to participate in. Exhibitors and vendors can download an application.

In addition to exhibitors, the City is looking for sponsors. Sponsorships are available at the gold, silver, and bronze level. Funding collected from sponsorships will help offset the cost of providing the event at no cost to the community and also enhance event amenities.

“North Port is a growing community and we have a lot of families who are unware of the wellness resources that exist around them. We want to showcase the opportunities in a fun, memorable way. We hope that you’ll contact us and we’ll work with you on how you can do this,” Wheatley said.

For more information or to take part in the Community Health and Wellness Fair, contact Parks & Recreation at (941) 429-7275 or email Recreation Program Coordinator Theresa Scully at
