Post Date:02/21/2018

The City of North Port's Parks & Recreation Division will be offering two free egg hunt events at the end of March for local families.

On March 30, 2018, the City will host a Flashlight Egg Hunt for families with children ages 6 to 11. The event will take place at 8 p.m., once the sun has set, on City Center Front Green, 4970 City Hall Blvd. Children are encouraged to bring a flashlight and a basket to fill. The eggs will be hidden in hay throughout City Center Front Green. The egg hunters will be divided into two age groups, including 6-8 and 9-11. The City has doubled the amount of glow in the dark eggs for this event - from 7,000 last year to 14,000 this year.

On March 31, 2018, the City will host its signature “Egg”normous Egg Hunt for families with children ages 3 to 9. The egg hunt will take place at 10 a.m. on City Center Front Green, 4970 City Hall Blvd. Children are encourage to bring their own basket. Egg hunters will be divided into three age groups, including 3-4, 5-6, and 7-9. There will be more than 20,000 eggs hidden. Find an egg with a special ticket and redeem on-site for an extra special basket.

Community donations of prize baskets are welcome. Baskets should be delivered to the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way.

The City of North Port is also seeking sponsors for this year’s egg hunt events. Sponsorships range from a presenting sponsor to gold, silver, and bronze. For a breakdown of the tiered sponsorship levels, visit www.cityofnorthport.com/sponsor. Each egg hunt event attracts more than 1,000 attendees annually. Funding collected from sponsorships will help offset the cost of providing the event at no cost to the community and also enhance event amenities.
