Masterchef Junior Cooking Class
Learn how fun and easy cooking can be! Students will learn to make delicious recipes, from main courses to desserts and snacks, with plenty of tasting along the way. Space is limited, pre-registration required.
Age: 10-15

Tot Time
Bring your little ones to play and interact with other tots. This is a great opportunity for your child to begin learning early social skills. Play equipment includes balls, riding toys, giant foam blocks and a manipulative station.

Tea Time

“Binglo” Family Game Night
A spin on classic Bingo making it out of this world glow! Bring the family out to our Binglo Family Game Night where we are turning the black lights on and the music up! Dress up in your best fluorescent clothing and get ready to call “Binglo”.

Scrapbooking Fun

Beginner Dance Instruction
This class is specifically designed to help you learn the basic moves in several ballroom dances to get you started dancing! All skill levels welcome. First class free to new participants.

Beginner Photography
Have you purchased a new DSLR camera and not sure how to use it? For the photo enthusiast or new user, this beginner course will explain basic camera operation, including camera and lens settings, storage, specs, exposure, shutter speeds, aperture, and ISO image framing. Some classes may include a field trip. Bring DSLR camera and manual to class. No class 9/4.

Intermediate Photography
This course will build on the Beginner’s Photography course and includes advanced work using manual mode, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings. The course will also cover bracketing, exposure compensation, camera metering and various uses of lens attachments.  Tripods recommended but not required. No class 9/4.

Game Club
Do you enjoy playing video games? This weekly club is dedicated to playing Super Smash Bros., board games, hanging out, and having fun! Test your skills in monthly double-elimination tournaments!

Dog Training Classes
Classes are open to dogs of all ages and sizes with their human. Proof of vaccinations and current tags must be provided at the time of registration. Handlers under age 18 must be with an adult.

T-Rec Fun Day
All teens and adults with disabilities are invited to a free afternoon of activities and fun. Make new friends and reconnect with others. A variety of activities such as pickleball, basketball, arts & crafts, and board games will be scheduled. Offered in conjunction with Sarasota County. Caregivers and family members are welcome.

North Port Little Naturalists
Looking for an alternative to the typical playgroup?  Connect with the outdoors and learn about the natural world with fun hands-on activities.

Rec on Wheels
Parks & Recreation is going out into the community and encouraging kids to come out and play! Each month we will be at a different location with a city vehicle full of activities and games. Rec on Wheels is offered on a drop-in basis, child care is not provided. Program will not be held during inclement weather.

Wild Side of North Port School Programs
The Wild Side of North Port School Programs are an excellent resource for school groups, scout troops, daycares and homeschool groups. Programs help students develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world while interacting in a natural setting and having fun.  Each program includes a game or hands on project with a variety of activities that will lead to discoveries in nature.
To schedule a program, call the George Mullen Activity Center at (941) 240-8120 at least three weeks in advance of the date desired.
