Located one street west of the intersection of East Price Boulevard and Atwater Drive, Atwater Park is the easternmost park in the city.
This 25-acre community park hosts the City of North Port’s Splashpad and Little League fields along with a playground, memorial paver area, and walking paths.
Children of all ages, even the grown-up ones, will enjoy getting drenched and cooling off in this interactive water feature. Like a traditional fountain, jets of water sail into the sky. Unlike a traditional fountain, you won’t get in trouble getting into it. In fact, we encourage it!
Using zero entry design principals, the Atwater Splashpad is accessible to everyone. Ample seating is provided around the Splashpad for those that wish to watch but don’t want to get wet.
Splashpad Hours of Operation
10 a.m. to dusk
Holiday Closures: 12/24, 12/25, 1/1
The Ball Fields at Atwater Park
Atwater Park is also home to 4 little-league sized and one regulation sized baseball fields with lighting for night games.
The little league fields are arranged to the four points of the compass, allowing four games to be played simultaneously. Each field has ample dugouts, seating for spectators, bullpens, and all four are arrayed around a central concession/press box building.
While emphasis at Atwater Park is on local little league teams, a regulation sized ball field is also located at the venue. The regulation field offers ample dugouts and covered seating for spectators.
Batting cages are also available for use.
Upkeep and management of the fields is conducted by Sarasota County’s Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources department. Please make maintenance and rental requests on their website or by calling 941-861-5000.
For information on participating in little league, visit the North Port Area Little League website.
Atwater Park has three open air pavilions to use for small parties and gatherings.
While all three are available at most times on a first come, first served basis, they can also be rented to guarantee they will be available when you need it.
All three pavilions have picnic tables available for use. In addition, the larger pavilion has a charcoal grill for cooking food.
Pavilion rental can be accomplished by visiting either the Morgan Family Community Center or George Mullen Activity Center in person. Rental of the pavilion is also possible by using our online registration program.
A partially shaded sports-themed playground is located adjacent to the Splashpad at Atwater Park.
Attractions at the playground include a slide, monkey bars, a suspended climbing bridge, and climbing net. A chalkboard wall is also on site for aspiring artists.
For the safety and security of patrons, the playground is designed for use by children from 5 to 12 years old.
Paver Memorial Area
A special brick paver Memorial Area is located close to the Splashpad and playground.
A brick paver is an excellent opportunity to recognize and honor others with the donation of an engraved paver. Information on how to donate a paver can be found on the Tribute Program webpage.
