Butler Park is a 42 acre park that includes one lighted, regulation baseball field, two lighted Little League fields, one lighted multipurpose playing field, batting cages, pavilion, playground, a lighted outdoor basketball court, walking path, small pond and canoe/kayak launch.The 33,300 sq. ft. Morgan Family Community Center is also situated on this property which is adjacent to Heron Creek Middle School and across the street from North Port High School. The center features a gymnasium, fitness center, studio, locker rooms, teen lounge, game room, multi-purpose space, meeting rooms, and an outdoor patio area.   

Butler Park is one of four sites included in the Phase 1 Canal & Creek Master Plan project that was completed in January 2016. Phase 1 focuses on connectivity of six miles of water based recreation at Blue Ridge, McKibben, Dallas White and Butler parks and includes portages at three water control structures. Canoe/kayak launches are available at each park site. Portages around the water control structures are accessible by water only. Planning a canoe/kayak excursion? Another project planned for the Butler Park site is the Butler Park Field Renovation project which will provide for the construction of multipurpose fields and drainage improvements at Butler Park. The project will transition the three existing baseball fields to three multi-purpose fields. Construction is estimated to begin in the Fall of 2016 and be complete in 2017.
