Records Manager, Rick Fitzgerald
Records Manager Fitzgerald began his career with the North Port Police Department in 2013. Before his promotion to his current position, he served as a Records Technician. He oversees the day to day operations of the Records Division. Records Manager Fitzgerald is a retired US Air Force Master Sergeant with 22 years of service.
The Records Section is responsible for collecting, disseminating, maintaining, filing and controlling departmental records through the use of automated electronic and hard file record keeping systems. In addition, they process and submit Uniform Crime Report statistics.
Records provides copies of police reports to citizens and members of the media. There are three ways a person can obtain copies of reports from the Records Bureau:
1) online at http://p2c.northportpd.com
2) by mail
3) in person. Visit the North Port Police Department at 4980 City Hall Blvd., North Port, FL 34286.
There is a minimal fee for obtaining copies of reports, and a research fee may apply if extensive research is required. The Records Section is the contact point for all public records requests.
