City hosts a week of Arbor Day Celebrations
The City will be celebrating Arbor Day throughout the entire week of January 11-15, 2010.
There will be tree planting taking place at various schools throughout the community.
In addition, the entire community is invited to come and celebrate Arbor Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2010 at City Hall, 4970 City Hall Boulevard. The event will be held in the courtyard of City Hall and will have information booths, raffle prizes, tree care classes, and games. A hotdog lunch will be offered at the cost of $3, all proceeds will go to benifit the United Way of South County. All who attend will be recieving a live oak tree seedling, provided by the City for attending the Arbor day celebration.

Don't forget to make your nominations for the "Greenest Citizen" award by noon on December 23, 2009. The top ten nominations will be selected for voting. On December 30 - January 13, the polls will be open online to decide who will take the title of "The Greenest Citizen." The winner will be awarded the title at the Arbor Day celebration at City Hall on January 15, 2010.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010- Cranberry Elementary School @ 9 a.m. and Glenallen Elementary School @ 11 a.m.
Wednesday, January 13, 2010- Lamarque Elementary School @ 11 a.m.
Thursday, January 14, 2010- Heron Creek Middle School @ 10 a.m. and Woodlands Elementary School @ 2 p.m.
Friday, January 15, 2010- Arbor day celebration @ City hall 11:00AM- 3:00 PM
