Our mission, adopted by the City Commission by Resolution in 1995 states:
The City of North Port will provide health, safety and welfare services to our residents, which would not be provided or could not be provided efficiently or equally without the intervention of government at the local level. PLANNING VISION. . . Planning begins with vision. The vision focuses on what a desirable future would include. The vision includes availability of jobs, business opportunities and a diversified tax base; the strength of existing and future neighborhoods; the provision of adequate utilities including potable water, sewer and solid waste; the conditions of streets; the quality of the Myakkahatchee Creek; the quality of open space and City parks; the availability of affordable and diversified housing and the accessibility and adequacy of libraries, schools and protective services.
Result: A Positive Quality of Life.
