Blue Ridge Park to get new playground equipment
The City of North Port will be installing new playground equipment at Blue Ridge Park, 2155 Ridgewood Drive.
The park’s playground will be closed beginning Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 while the work begins. The new equipment will replace the existing equipment at the popular park.
While the playground is being installed, the pavilion at Blue Ridge Park will be unavailable for rent, but available for use on a first come, first service basis. The canoe and kayak launch will remain accessible and open.
“We are thrilled about the installation of this new playground equipment, which includes a dual zip line, expression swings and other playful features,” said Tricia Wisner, Parks & Recreation Manager. “We surveyed the community and their feedback provided us the framework of the new playground.”
Blue Ridge Park is a 6-acre neighborhood park located along the Blue Ridge Waterway. As well as a place for families to play, the park is one of five parks in the City providing water-based recreational activities.
