Commission Approves Adoption of Warm Mineral Springs Park Master Plan
On April 9, 2019, Commission approved the adoption of the Warm Mineral Springs Park Master Plan. This plan includes a comprehensive analysis of the entire 81.6 acres and provides recommendations for future services and amenities. The plan will be implemented in phases, with the top priorities being utility infrastructure, building renovations, and parking improvements.
A large portion of the plan’s creation included community input. The City of North Port and consultants from Kimley-Horn & Associates hosted a series of stakeholder meetings and community engagement sessions on Sept. 18-20, 2018. A survey was also conducted for public input on Warm Mineral Springs Park.
“Our mission includes preserving our cultural resources and the provision of high-quality parks and natural spaces,” said Sandy Pfundheller, Director of Parks & Recreation. “We appreciate the community’s input and collaboration over the past year as this Master Plan was developed and we’re looking forward to not only restoring the historically significant buildings but also expanding the recreational amenities at the park.”
