North Port Fire Rescue maintains coveted ISO-1 rating
North Port, FL – After an extremely comprehensive analysis and review by the Insurance Services Office (ISO), North Port Fire Rescue is proud to announce they have retained their Public Protection Class 1 designation. This keeps North Port Fire Rescue rated in the top 1 percent of all Fire Departments nationwide for fire protection services. Of more than 41,000 departments evaluated, NPFR is one of roughly 350 departments across the country earning or maintaining this designation.
Aside from the recognition that NPFR is performing at the highest levels, businesses and residents may also see a reduction in insurance rates. The more well-equipped NPFR is to provide services, the better protected life and property are going to be. Less risk, less expensive to insure. “I’m extremely proud of our personnel at each of our stations who helped to maintain this top tier rating,” Fire Chief Scott Titus said. “I’m also thankful to the City for providing the resources we need to maintain this level of service.”
By classifying communities' ability to suppress fires, ISO helps the communities evaluate their public fire-protection services. Some of the criteria evaluated is training, equipment, capabilities, water supply, community risk reduction, and more. By securing lower fire insurance premiums for communities with better public protection, the program provides incentives and rewards for communities who choose to improve their firefighting services.
The department has maintained its ISO-1 rating since 2015. NPFR works hard each day to deliver exceptional customer service to the residents of North Port. The significant ISO-1 rating retention only reiterates the excellent job the department does 24/7.
