Roadwatch Report for the week of June 22 – June 26
Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.
North Port Boulevard scheduled to be resurfaced June 22-25:
North Port Boulevard, from the Cocoplum Waterway bridge to Appomattox Drive, is scheduled to be resurfaced June 22 through June 25. Work will take place from 7:00am-6:00pm each day.
- Monday-Tuesday (6/22-6/23) – There will be a full road closure on North Port Boulevard, from the Cocoplum Waterway bridge to Greenwood Avenue. Crews will be replacing the road base.
- Wednesday-Thursday (6/24-6/25) – One lane will be closed on North Port Boulevard, from the Cocoplum Way bridge to Appomattox Drive. Crews will be milling and resurfacing the roadway.

Bike Lanes scheduled to be constructed on S. Biscayne:
Starting in mid-June, bicycle lanes will be constructed on South Biscayne Drive, between Elyton Drive and Glenallen Boulevard. The bicycle lanes will be seven feet wide and constructed on both sides of the roadway. The project is funded through a grant from the Federal Highway Administration.
Please use caution when traveling in the area by paying attention to traffic signs and barricades.
