Yes, but we do not pro-rate days or weeks. Registration is based on the full week regardless of how many hours your child attends.
Do we have to be residents of North Port to participate in the camp programs?
No, you do not need to be a resident of North Port to participate our camp program.
Do you hire high school aged students?
We do not hire counselors under the age of 18. Young people in entering grade 9 and up can fulfill Community Service Hours at our camp by signing up for the C.I.T Program. Please contact the Parks & Recreation Division about this by calling the (941) 429-7275 or emailing parks@cityofnorthport.com.
We do accept payment from County or State welfare programs for those who qualify.
How do I contact the camp?
For registration questions before/during or after summer, call (941) 240-8125 or email tscully@cityofnorthport.com. To speak to camp director Theresa Scully during camp, call (941) 240-8120.
If you cannot register online, you may download an application from www.cityofnorthport.com/camp and bring it to Morgan Family Community Center, 6207 W. Price Blvd or to the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way.
Additionally, if space is available, we will accept registrations at the camp Fridays before the following week.
Is my child allowed to change groups to be with his/her friends?
We try to accommodate group changes as much as possible. Due to staff/camper ratios, this is not always possible.
Is there a sibling discount?
No, we do not offer sibling discounts. We do offer a 10% discount when you purchase all ten weeks of camp!
What is extended care?
This service is offered to parents/guardians who require a longer day of care for a small additional fee.
Morning Extended Care
GMAC: 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Teen Extreme Camp at Morgan: 7:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
Afternoon Extended Care
GMAC: 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Teen Extreme Camp at Morgan:4:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Campers must be registered for extended care if arriving before 8:30 a.m. or departing after 4:30 p.m. During this time, low-key, self-directed activities are available for campers. Morning day camp extended care services cost $10 per week/per child. Afternoon day camp extended care services cost $10 per week/per child.

What should the children bring to camp every day?
Day Camp is an activity/sports camp so children should dress accordingly. This means athletic shoes and comfortable clothing in which they can participate in a wide variety of activities. Please generously apply sunscreen on your child before they arrive at camp.
Each child should bring the following items to camp daily:
A morning snack
An afternoon snack (Full Day Camps Only)
Sunblock
Hat (optional)
Refillable water bottle
Backpack to carry everything
