Fingerprinting hours of operation are Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. 

The fees are as follows:  

Print Cards = $5.00 each 
LiveScan = $8.00 (not including FDLE fees online), be sure to have an ORI number (you may also have an OCA number). 

You will need a valid State or Government Picture Identification Card 

Steps are outlined below:

  • Go to your local police department during specified fingerprinting hours

  • Show technician your ID and any fingerprint documents (instructions or information provided from the entity requiring the prints) 

  • Pay the required fee

  • The technician will scan and submit your fingerprints via a Live Scan device or print you an FBI approved fingerprint card

  • Obtain an informational packet from the technician for payment to FDLE for LiveScan prints 

  • Once complete you will have 30 days to complete the fingerprint transaction

  • Go to and follow the on-screen instructions

  • Once fees are paid,  your fingerprints will be released for submission


As of April 1, 2012, FDLE and the FBI will no longer accept hard copy fingerprint cards for background checks. All fingerprinting will be submitted electronically via a Live Scan device. Once the Police Department submits your fingerprints you will be responsible to cover the processing fees set forth by FDLE and the FBI.   • Your fingerprint technician will provide you with the documents that you need to complete this process. 

  • Your fingerprints will be submitted to FDLE for a state and national criminal records check and will be processed within 24 to 72 hours from time of receipt.

    • If your fingerprints are rejected for fingerprint quality, you will be required to resubmit a second set at no additional cost. However, you will be required to bring in rejection letter for re-submission.
