Throughout the year Social Services hosts three annual events to serve the needs of our community.

Community Baby Shower and Preschool Expo

Offered in April, the Community Baby Shower and Preschool Expo provides information on programs and services available to expectant mothers and families with children under the age of 5. Chances to win door prizes happen throughout the event, as well as fun activities for babies and toddlers.

Back to School Resource Fair

Offered in July, the Back to School Resource Fair provides information on programs and services available to students grades K-12.  Free backpacks and school supplies are provided to families who register. The program is only for North Port residents. Registration is required prior to this event.

Home for the Holidays Program 

The City's annual Home for the Holidays Program provides a way to connect income eligible families with organizations, businesses, and individuals who want to help during the holiday season. The program has Adopt-n-Shop Program that provides the opportunity for families to be adopted. Families must apply to be part of the program. The application process takes place in October. The program also has a Senior Giving Tree program for local seniors to provide a holiday experience through a special luncheon. Seniors must register for the luncheon every October.
