Throughout the year Social Services hosts three annual events to serve the needs of our community.
Offered in April by the City of North Port, in partnership with Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota County, the Community Baby Shower and Preschool Expo provides information on programs and services available to expectant mothers and families with children under the age of 4. Chances to win door prizes happen throughout the event, as well as fun activities for babies and toddlers.
Offered in August, the Back to School Resource Fair provides information on programs and services available to students grades K-12. Free backpacks and school supplies are provided to families who register. The program is only for North Port residents. Registration is required prior to this event.
The City's annual Home for the Holidays Program provides a way to connect income eligible families/individuals with organizations, businesses, and individuals who want to help during the holiday season. The program consists of two components; the Adopt-n-Shop Program that provides the opportunity for families to be adopted, and the Senior Giving Tree that provides local City of North Port Seniors a holiday experience through a special luncheon . Registration is required for both programs.
