Make a Difference - Social Services DivisionThe Social Services Division assists North Port families to improve their overall quality of life. We ask you to consider your personal commitment in one of these ways.

Financial Support
Monetary contributions can help families experiencing an unavoidable financial crisis. Please make checks payable to the City of North Port. If you wish to earmark a particular program listed below please note in memo section.

Donations can be mailed or delivered to the Social Services Division, City of North Port, 6919 Outreach Way, North Port, FL 34287. For more information, contact the Social Services Division at (941) 429-3700.

Gift Cards
Choose a local grocer and purchase gift cards. We will donate gift cards to families receiving assistance through our office. Gift cards help us fill in the "gaps" on items that local pantries may not have in stock.

Donate to the Help-2-Others (H2O) Program
The H2O Program is designed to ensure all City of North Port Utilities customers have access to a clean, safe water supply. The funding from this program is provided to families who are experiencing short term financial challenges to pay their North Port Utilities bill. The program is supported 100 percent by community donations.

Community involvement is vital to our mission. Your contribution is more than just a gift. Without volunteer support, we would not be able to continue our community projects. Volunteers are needed in a variety of ways, from office support to assisting with events.

Help during the Holidays
The City's annual Home for the Holidays Program provides a way to connect families in hard times with organizations, businesses, and individuals who want to help during the holiday season. The program includes an Adopt-n-Shop Program that provides the opportunity for families to be adopted. There are many ways to get involved in this program, from donations to adopting a family to donating to the City's Senior Giving Tree program for local seniors.

School Supplies for Students
Offered in July, the Back to School Resource Fair provides information on programs and services available to students grades K-12.  Free backpacks and school supplies are provided to families who register. Donate school supplies for this event and help local families with school age children.

Donate to the Youth Scholarship Fund
In 2017, the City of North Port launched a Youth Scholarship Fund for qualifying youth to assist them with the admission cost to participate in some of the programs through the Parks & Recreation Division. Donations are needed for this fund.
