Established by Ordinance No. 2018-63, adopted by the North Port City Commission on 01-22-2019, and amended by Ordinance No. 2019-13 on 05-14-2019.  Also governed by Advisory Board general legislation in Ordinance No. 2014-07, adopted on 02-10-2014.

The purpose is to provide the City Commission a youth perspective on issues that affect the City of North Port and to provide youth an opportunity to be active and make a difference in their community.

Membership consists of 7 to 11 Student Members, every student member shall have successfully completed the 6th grade and may be currently enrolled and attending middle school, high school or home schooled and shall be under the age of 20.  May also consist of up to 5 at-large members who are residents of the City of North Port. Members serve a one-year term.

Meeting dates and times will be set at its first meeting and will meet no less than quarterly.

Current Vacancies:  7 to 11 Student Members and 2 Alternate At-Large Members.
