As the largest city in Sarasota County, the City of North Port is home to more than 70,000 residents and spans more than 104.3 square miles. Airports & Public Transportation
Residents enjoy North Port's accessibility. Both Interstate 75 and U.S. 41 provide easy access to some of Florida's unique and cultural destinations. The City is strategically located between Tampa International Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport. Nearby airports also include Punta Gorda Airport and Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.
The City of North Port also enjoys public transportation through Sarasota County Area Transit.
Animal Services(also called "Animal Control") are provided by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Many homes in North Port are on private well or septic. North Port Utilities is consistently looking for ways to expand its services. Check to see if a property has public water and sewer.
Driver's License and Tax Collector Services
The Sarasota County Tax Collector has office hours inside City Hall Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
